Tiny room for such price point. There is no kettle and basic amenities inside the room. Not enough storage area. We can’t barely open our luggages. Not recommended.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There are a few lovely nearby towns with services but there is nothing here so you almost must eat in and the prices are extraordinary! Check in was quick and easy. As the hotel overlooks the ocean we were hopeful for a view but alas we were in a room facing the carpark! The roommates is quite nice. The bathroom looks good and is a good size however the water pressure is terrible! We stayed for two nights and were told if we want the room services or new towels we must let them know! We said new Towels would be nice and that’s what we got. Two towels on the bed. Given the cost of this hotel I would hope for a couple of new tea bags and coffee sachets at the very least. Seems You pay more get less!!

Our stay was great. The only issue was the curtains because there was much light shining into the room trough the night..

The nature is wonderful. Many birds and flowers. lava fields and the snaefellsjökull. Much impressive.

We splurged and booked two adjoining rooms (9 and 9B) at this hotel. Our son's room was standard size, while my husband and I had a large room with an ocean-view deck. (Unfortunately, the weather was too rainy and windy for us to enjoy it.) Room 9 also features a desk, sitting area, and good-sized bathroom. Due to the time of year, the room was bright in the early morning, even with blackout shades. Dinners were good, but expensive. The best part for us was walking to the nearby Arnarstapi viewpoint and watching all the fulmars and gulls swooping above our heads and nesting in the cliffs.

The dinner at the restaurant was really outstanding... amazing food with a great view. My room smelled a little musty but was otherwise very nice, spacious and clean. Front desk staff very helpful. Lovely common spaces, beautiful sea view from the room and restaurant. No elevator so I had to drag my heavy luggage down a few stairs.

The hotel boasts a remarkably convenient location, just a 10-minute drive from Djúpalónssandur Beach and Arnarstapi. Positioned near the Arnarstapi hiking viewing point, it offers captivating ocean vistas from the dining room, and a mere five-minute stroll from the trail leads you to the ocean's edge. During our stay, we were delighted to spot an Icelandic fox in the hotel's backyard on our final evening. Additionally, the hotel provides an outstanding breakfast and delectable dinner options within its restaurant. The staff, noted for their exceptional friendliness, surpassed our expectations, marking this as one of the most hospitable experiences we've encountered in our seven visits to Iceland, having stayed at numerous hotels and guesthouses. Pros: 1. Superb Location 2. Breathtaking Views from Rooms and Dining Area 3. Exceptionally Friendly Staff 4. Enjoyable Dining Experience Cons: 1. Double rooms are compact, though consistent with the norm for Icelandic hotels. A modern ambiance would enhance the setting. 2. Modern bathroom design would be a welcomed addition. 3. The cumbersome traditional key necessitates constant carriage, rather than the convenience of electronic swipe keys. 4. Doors can produce loud closing noises, potentially disrupting tranquility.

Amazing views from the breakfast room / restaurant. Staff really kind and helpful. Cosy and quiet, even in the cliff top location. A great base for walkers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers.
